Third time firing up this raku kiln I’ve assembled for PEI. Starting to get some really good results and quick firing times with the addition of fire brick base. Still need to refine my temp control to get a good melt on my glazes before pulling them. Working with two smaller metal popcorn tins and a small garbage can with straw for reduction cans. Getting lots of good carbon trapping. Used Spectrum’s White Crackle and Neptune Raku Glazes. See my Raku Ready post for more info on how i made the tentacles. Tentacles will be displayed in the Fitzroy Street Tiny Art Gallery in August 2024! Stay tuned for more pics for installation (plus a giveaway!).
